Information for teachers & secondary schools

Young people are being exposed to a growing wave of misinformation about tanning and UV exposure across social media. What looks aspirational and harmless is often misleading - and influencing behaviours at a critical stage in life.

Expose The Glow is designed to help students question what they see, understand the risks, and make safer, more informed choices.

Melanoma is one of the most common and fastest rising cancers in young adults in the UK - despite the fact that most cases are preventable. At the same time, harmful tanning trends, myths and misinformation are spreading rapidly across social media–shaping beliefs and behaviours early. Without intervention, these behaviours can become normalised.

Expose The Glow is designed to interrupt that cycle.
